I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT17564) (1982) having received my Master of Arts degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from Santa Clara University in 1982. I maintain a private practice in Visalia, CA.
I have extensive training in treatment of anxiety, trauma, and childhood trauma, and in Psychosynthesis, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness, Spiritual Direction, Play Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy. My professional background includes having worked as a child protective services social worker, educator, director of a parental stress hotline, crisis intervention counselor, Executive Director of a nonprofit counseling and educational center, Deputy Director of Social Services for Tulare County, and as a medical social worker in a hospital family birth center, pediatrics and NICU, and as a hospital medical oncology social worker.
In addition to being a therapist, I have been a presenter at local, state, and international conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of healing from childhood trauma, child abuse prevention and treatment, parenting, communication, stress and relaxation, and good health and well-being.
